D-Berlin Baukultur Workshops 2014
How must the city of the future specifically be planned and designed, in order to be strengthened and developed in its unique diversity as living and working space for all residents and user groups? What role does Baukultur play in this regard and where does it come into effect?

The Baukultur foundation set the thematic focus of the program for 2014 on “Built Habitats of the Future: Focus City”. This is based on numerous current debates about a livable environment in our cities, for example regarding affordable housing, the quality of our public spaces and infrastructures, or regarding the quality of planning processes.

In this, the foundation is guided by the conviction that anchoring Baukultur in the design of our living environment has a positive aesthetic, but also social, environmental and economic effect.

Prof. Markus Neppl (ASTOC Architects and Planners) talked about the housing Complex Buchheimer Weg, Cologne.
